Stonehouse Building Contractors provide all types of rendering systems to cover all rendering requirements and can apply scraped finishes, ashlar finishes, spray roughcast finishes and EWI with synthetic topcoat finishes. We install Monocouche, EWI, Monorex, Weber, K-Rend and Traditional render applications.

Monocouche render is a modern approach for rendering as it can be applied in one single coat to provide a weather resistant façade to the elevations of a building constructed of masonry. The pre-mixed product is pigmented and available in a range of colours. It is low maintenance as does not require periodic painting of a decorative top coat like more traditional renders.

External Wall Insulation (EWI) is an external wall insulation system that is a thermally insulated, protective, decorative exterior cladding. Monorex is a material that is composed of hydraulic mortar. The hydraulic mortar contains cement, lime, siliceous and calcareous sand and mineral pigments. Monorex provides one fully coloured weather resistant coat and breathable render for vertical masonry and concrete walls.

Weber is a material based on mortar. It comes in many forms with different polymers added to it so that it can be used as a top coat render or as a stand alone coat. It is easy to apply, requiring only a smooth application to the surface that is going to be rendered. It is also relatively cheaper.

K-Rend contains silicone that repels water and is resistant to Algae and limebloom. Being able to repel water, it spares the purchaser the hassle and ordeal of having to either wait for the unwanted effects of limebloom to disappear through the action of the elements or by the time consuming application of low strength acid concentration to the rendered surface.

Traditional rendering consists of a thin premixed surface of sand, cement and lime to brick, cement, stone or mud brick. Traditional rendering makes the otherwise originally exposed brick or stone layer visually pleasing possibly enhanced with a detailed, textured look depending on the wishes of the property owner.

Stonehouse Building Contractors have just completed a two storey rear extension to my domestic dwelling in Ashford. Their attention to detail is first class. The surveyor was extremely impressed with the finish and said it was some of the best work he had ever seen in 17 years.
